I am a biologist from Costa Rica and I love birds. Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Alberta. I am studying what levels of industrial noise determine the variation in song structure and the variation in singing behavior of boreal songbirds in Northern Alberta. I did my undergraduate and graduate studies in Costa Rica. For my Masters thesis, I studied the effect of food availability on the abundance of insectivorous birds in tropical rain forests of Costa Rica. Also, I have been studying song plasticity and vocal learning in clay-colored thrushes. In my spare time I enjoy walking with my dog Dante, reading, and dancing all types of music.
