We may concentrate on wildlife, but plants are cool too!

Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is a parasitic plant and doesn’t produce it’s own chlorophyll, which is why it’s white instead of green. It gets its energy from other photosynthetic plants. This was the most interesting plant I saw this summer. It was a lucky find since they are generally quite rare, this was the first one I’ve ever seen in the boreal forest of northern Alberta.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
