Outside of my research activities, you can usually find me at the climbing wall or running in the Edmonton river valley. I try to escape the noise and confusion of the city whenever possible and spend many of my off-days hiking, camping, paddling, and climbing through the scenic Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. In the winter, I replace my running shoes with skis, both the cross-country and downhill variety. However, I do have my weaknesses. If you ever have a question or favor to ask, keep in mind that the most direct path to my heart is good food, folk music, and back rubs after long days in the field.
